About the Chimera Anchor

The Chimera Anchor system is an innovative design which allows the user multiple options for anchoring to different substrates and materials.

The Chimera Anchor system can be installed at the roof peak onto two separate joists or rafters up to 16 inches apart. The system allows for going over the ridge and be attached to both roof pitch sides. This configuration allows for maximum traversing of either side of the roof when attached to the anchor ring. As well as using to chimera anchor systems on either side of the ridge to allow for attaching a horizontal support line system.

For steep slope roof systems which can be penetrated into with the provided anchor fasteners, the Chimera metal anchor bases must be flush to the roof material. Ensuring that the fasteners are screwed directly into the center of the wooden structural roof joists or rafters.

ATTENTION!!!

Being offset into only plywood decking will reduce the efficiency of the product and will not be acceptable as a PFA system. Ensure it is anchored into the center of the joists or rafter framing. Also ensure the joists or rafters are secured and suitable for anchoring the PFA system otherwise injury and death may occur.

For rope over the ridge methods, the Chimera Anchor system can be installed on the bottom of the roof system near the eaves. Attach to the center of the rafters or joists spanning up to 16 inches apart. This method allows for anchoring via the ladder prior to going on the rooftop.

When utilizing the roof rafter edge method, ensure the rope over the ridge has adequate rope protection at the ridge. It is also best practice to have the opposite side anchored as well, ensuring slack is enabled on the traversing side.

For ground anchoring purposes, the Chimera Anchor is equipped with metal base holes allowing for the Penetrator™️ earth anchoring ground screws to hold it down and sit flush against the earth.

ATTENTION!!!

Follow the guidelines and instructions from American earth anchors which describe the operation and uses. Soil types, moisture, weather, and placements will greatly affect the stability of the earth anchoring system. Failure to use the products correctly can result in injury or death.

For post, pole, and beam anchoring purposes the Chimera Anchor can be used as a basket hitch or choker hitch. Lifeline rope protection is always advised.

By using the Chimera Anchor system, the end user assumes all risks associated with use.

Inspect before each use.

The outer mantle of the rope sheathing may show signs of wear over time; this is normal.

If the metal components show cracks or breaks, or if the inner core of the rope is showing, discontinue use.

Attach the lifeline rope to the Chimera Anchor ring by means of an auto locking carabiner or a figure 8 follow through knot only.
